Darryl Brown
Interim Co-Director of Recovery
Darryl joined 5280 Recovery High School in October 2021 as a humanities teacher, and later transitioned into a hybrid role as a recovery coach and social emotional learning (SEL) teacher. He is serving as a peer recovery coach, supporting students in their academic, personal, and recovery journeys. Darryl holds a B.A. in Economics from Binghamton University and is credentialed as a Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant (QBHA) and Certified Family Peer Specialist (CPFS). His professional experience combines education, peer support, and recovery-focused services to help students build meaningful connections and achieve their goals. He is passionate about creating supportive environments where students can thrive both academically and personally. Outside of work, Darryl enjoys cooking, reading, and adding to his extensive sneaker collection.
